Chairs & Stools

I don't think there is anything more satisfying than building a chair or stool. The designs I prefer are pictured and fall into the category of 'Stick Chairs'. A gentleman named Christopher Schwarze, a renowned chair builder and writer, published a few books I was unable to resist. He detailed the steps and most importantly his book made me feel at ease with the process. 

I follow a few of the basic rules when it comes to design but if I want to try something different I do it. In addition, many builders will use and fuss over the use of traditional woodworking tools. My budget won't allow that, so I do what I have to do to get the part made and shaped the way I want. Which means I do a lot of sanding. LOL.
